Head-butting in sports is infrequent but hardly unheard of and there have been multiple incidences of it in just the past few years. The most famous head-butt was in the 2006 World Cup in Germany when French star Zinedine Zidane head-butted Italian defender Marco Materazzi in the chest; the blow knocked Materazzi to the pitch and earned Zidane his ejection from the game.
There have been other head-butters in soccer and other sports.
But the best head-butter in our planet's history may not have even been an athlete. In fact we're talking about a creature that hasn't lived for 65 to 72 million years, a dinosaur that was no bigger than your average goat or sheep. A study released on June 28, 2011 on the two-legged Stegoceras validum suggests that it was a dinosaur made for going into battle - head-first.
